What floor plans and series are available and what sizes do they come in? Each model has multiple floor plans to choose from, or you are welcome to design your own floor plan. Home sizes range from 1,000 sf all the way to 6,000 sf
Can plans be customized or do you offer fully custom design services? Pretty much every house we build is customized to the lifestyle and needs of the buyer. We can also build you a complete custom if you would like, we would just need the plans.
What materials and siding options are offered (e.g., half-log, Appalachian, lap siding, steel)? We offer a variety of exterior siding options to match your style and performance preferences. Our standard offerings include:
Looking for something different? We're happy to price out custom siding options, including steel or other specialty materials, to help you achieve the exact look you want for your Whisper Creek Home.
Let's build a home that reflects your vision—inside and out.
How much log or timber detailing is included in each package? The amount of log and timber detailing will vary upon the series, model, and components you choose. Our Whisper Creek line is the premier line and contains multiple interior timber beams and vigas. If you wish to save some money, the Pure Country series removes the interior timbers, another option is a hybrid series which has some but not all timbers.
How does the off-site panelization process work? Any home is a series of walls, floors, ceilings, roof etc. The process of panelization simply moves the process of building some of these components from on-site to a indoor climate controlled facility.
How long does it take to fabricate panels and dry-in a home compared to traditional stick-built homes? Once the plans have been finalized and signed off by the homeowner, a production slot is reserved. Once the home goes into production it is usually completed with a week or so and prepared for shipping. Upon arrival at the build site, the home is usually dried in in about a week.
What components are delivered on-site, and what remains to be finished? The house will come complete with everything needed to dry in except for the exterior doors and roofing material. Once dried in, the house will still need to be finished to include plumbing, electric, flooring, sheetrock, etc.
Are there seasonal or weather-related considerations that might affect installation timeline or cost? Due to the fact that the house will be dried in within a week or so (depending upon size) weather is generally not a factor. The only weather related process that will be affected by weather is the installation of the foundation. Here in our Alpine climate, the ground will freeze in the winter making the installation of the foundation not possible until it has thawed. Our ground generally starts freezing in late November and is usually thawed by mid April.
What is the average cost per square foot for your packages? Square ft pricing is dependent upon the series, model and components you would like in the home. We are always happy to provide free quotes.
Do prices include shipping and assembly? No, shipping is provided by a third party and rates fluctuate depending upon fuel prices etc. Assembly is not included but can be provided. We have our own General Contractor and we will be happy to give you a quote on assembly and or finishing the home completely.
How are material price fluctuations handled? Is there a price lock guarantee? Once you receive a quote it is good for 30 days. There could be a price adjustment once it goes into engineering if significant modifications have been requested. This does not happen often, but it does happen.
What warranties are offered? Whisper Creek offers a 24 year warranty on all the work that has been done by Whisper Creek
How are plans engineered and adapted for my specific build site? All plans are engineered for the area the home will be built. Engineering takes into account the current building codes, environment, weather, and seismic activity. Your plans will come with a New Mexico engineer stamp.
Are your homes compliant with local and state building codes and permitting processes? Absolutely, your home will be fully engineered to comply with the most current building codes.
What site conditions or prep are required before panel delivery? All lots are unique, depending upon the individual lot there may be excavation or retaining requirements. A foundation and subfloor will also need to be built prior to delivery.
What kind of insulation and energy performance ratings can be achieved? Insulation requirements are dictated by code. These requirements can be met in a variety of ways, but the most common is blown in open cell foam combined with a Zip panel placed between the framing and the siding.
Can current owners or dealers provide references or allow site visits? We would love for you to come and do a site visit. We are always happy to take you on a tour of our homes in progress and do drive-bys of some of our completed homes.
What financing options are available through Whisper Creek? Whisper Creek does not offer financing, however, Swan Realty does have financing partners that we will be happy to set you up with.
